I love this radio. I have had it for 7 or 8 months now, and I still love it as much as I did on the first day. It looks kind of lame, like it's from the 70's or 80's, but that's the only thing that's less than perfect. It gets great reception, it's as durable as a rock (it will float and operate when put in water), the handle makes it easy to hang almost anywhere, and the volume is loud enough for any bathroom (unless you have a ridiculously large bathroom). I can hear the music all the way in my bedroom, which is down and across the hallway. 4 different people shower in this bathroom every day, and we all use the radio. The battery display still shows full strength after all this time, and I have yet to replace the batteries. As I try to think of a negative comment (just to be fair) I can't. I highly reccommend this product to absolutely anyone that showers.

I've purchased shower radio after shower radio and sort of expect them to deteriorate. Some fancy Brands work only in one position and all of them sounded tinny. Dial tuning has always been a pain. This radio is twice the size I expected from the images, but the handle/hanger made it easy to put in place. The problem immediately became that the radio's sound is just too good to leave it in the shower! It's also great in the backyard to Broadcast Yankee games while I'm gardening. This radio is worth every penny--the digital tuner is great and the push button volume control is simple and perfectly graduated. The Brand was new to me and I didn't really expect much, but I can recommend this radio for the shower and anywhere you want a clear, full sounding, distortion free broadcast. The mini-flashlight?? Haven't a clue. Atmosphere in the shower? But it works.

I use this radio while canoe camping, and it's performed well and has some nice features. The rotating handle feature is great for easily securing it to the thwart of the boat or a tree limb, and it's waterproof enough to leave out in the rain. It uses D cell batteries, and they last forever. I'd guess the current set has 40 hours of medium level play on them, a couple hours of light use, and they're still showing 3 bars on the battery level indicator. It is not a hi-fi radio by any means but sound quality is better than most radios with a similar sized speaker, and it's plenty powerful enough for a small campsite. The built in LED light is a nice feature. It's not super bright nor focused, so doesn't reach out very far, but it comes in handy and will run a long time given the D cell batteries. Reception even with the antenna extended is "ok". My car radio picks up far more channels. The big LCD and orange backlight operation is cool as it shuts down after a while, but can be reactivated by touching any button. This conserves battery life and keeps the tent dark at night, but also makes it easy to reach over and tap a button to see what time it is if needed. Too heavy (IMO) for backpack camping of any distance. Gave it 4 stars only because it doesn't have an alarm (but does have a timer and clock). Weather band would be a useful feature, as would an input jack for an mP3 player.

I am disabled and went through a serious illness--I don't remember exactly when I bought my Sangean shower radio with Christmas gift money, but I think it was at least 3 years ago. It is a GREAT radio, and I find it essential due to my disabilities. Taking a shower is hard for me, and having the radio playing my favorite Christian station makes a huge difference. When I have forgotten to turn it on, I have realized afterward that my shower went more slowly and was more difficult.
I recently needed a new radio for my study. I tried the shower Sangean in there with a Radio Shack AC adaptor, and it was terrific. But I did not want to risk carrying it back and forth from the bathroom to the study. That seems like a recipe for disaster. I do not have it attached in the bathroom. We bought a very good stainless steel rack that mounts in the corner of the shower or tub area, and I set the Sangean shower radio securely on the very top shelf. It gets moist, but is not directly whacked by water. It seems very happy there!
I tested the Sangean shower radio and also tested a Tivoli Songbook I have by the bed--tested both of them in the study to see which I liked better. The Sangean! I play the Tivoli Songbook a lot. But I bought a Sangean shower radio for the study. It is a wonderful, wonderful companion in there.
Now I'm thinking of buying another one for the living room/kitchen area. Listening to the radio station definitely benefits me in multiple ways. Another thing I love about the Sangean shower radio is volume controls that show volume numbers. My ears are one of my disabilities, and to change volume levels those numbers are tremendously helpful to me.
I can understand why the unit does not come with an AC adaptor. You would not use one in the shower--I hope! But I'm thrilled that it comes with a DC power cord jack (and a secure rubber cover to keep water out of it when you're not using it). That makes it not too difficult to buy an AC adaptor and use the radio in different places.
I'm sure it would be a real hassle to install the mount to mount a radio to the bathroom wall. The shelf unit I set the radio on in the bathroom is incredibly useful. The first one we bought rusted! So we bought a better one--and when that one worked well in the shower in the other bathroom, we bought another for the bath with the tub. We've had them both two or three years now and they are terrific. I have used the Sangean shower radio on both of them, and it works perfectly on the top shelf. No problems at all.
This is a very good product! I have a feeling I will be buying #3!

Sounds great in the bathroom. A bit larger than I thought it would be, but no problem where we mounted it. It requires 2 "D" cells. Not sure it we will ever use the personal alarm (mounted too high on the wall to reach if you fell). Manual says it floats if you need a boat radio. Built in light (ie flashlight). Controls are easy to use but you may need the manual the first time for some of the enhanced functions.
Comes with a nice wall bracket and can also hang from the fold out hook. The antenna wire can be pulled out of the case through a small hole to improve reception if needed. I am using it for AM and FM broadcast stations and I also have an FM transmitter attached to our bedroom TV so we don't wake the rest of the house when we are in the bathroom. Nice selectivity, picks out my litte transmitter from all the local stations.
Fast shipping. I would recommend to a friend.
