I think the product is OK, and its flaws may have to do more with my own bath tub. The suction doesn't work very well and tends to pop up regularly, but I think it's because my tub is in need of refinishing, so it's not smooth enough for the drain protector to stick on tightly. In terms of catching hair, yes it does let a few go through probably because it's not always tightly suctioned down (hair tends to slide underneath the drain protector) but I find that it still catches quite a bit of hair wherever it is tightly stuck on.

Helpful as I just replaced a few pipes! I couldn't get these anywhere but managed to find them here..amazon.com. A few strands get through but it collects tons and for a dorm with all girls WE really need this and this does work well. The bumps on each petal is actually a differt style of suction cup and they work better than traditional suction cups. I would give this a five star if no hair got through. Other than that durable and worth the money.

I started using this hair catcher in my shower to, well....stop my drain from being clogged up with my hair. This product has worked great and at a very good price. If looking for an inexpensive and effective way to stop your drain from clogging up, I definitely would try this one.

We had the drain in our tub replaced, and now have the pop-up kind. The Stop-a-Clog does not catch more than a few hairs - my hair is thick, but the strands are fine (not coarse). The hair either slips down the drain between the suction cups, or slides down through the large slits in the side of the drain protector.
Since 2 drain protectors were in the package, I placed the second catcher kind of cross-wise on top of the first, which was attached to the bottom of the tub with the suction cups. If the second protector is laid over top so that they are NOT lined up (lay the suction cups of the second one in between the suction cups of the first), it catches more hair than if only one catcher is used. But the suction cups of the second one can't be pressed down, so without a seal you still have hair slipping down the drain.
The only positive aspects about the purchase were that it was pretty inexpensive, and the shipping & delivery (with Amazon Prime) were really quick.
